Why do the so-called palestinians think any land is theirs?

1. Nationhood and Jerusalem. Israel became a nation in 1312 BCE, Two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BCE, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 CE lasted no more than 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: in 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews . Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

10 The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey .

13. The Arab-Israeli Conflict: the Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

14. The PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

16. The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

18. The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives .

20. The UN was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

God I miss Hitler...

Have they ever set up for themselves an official claim on the land?

I don't think they have. That's why they're still called a "territory" rather than by an official name, like The Federal Republic of Germany.

The day they define themselves as a territory is the day they lose their claim on Israel's land. I think they'll avoid that.

"Why do they think any land is theirs?" Where the hell are they supposed to live!!!!

And if you're American and not native American then that land isn't yours now is it?

If the Israeli's have to give land to the Palestinian's then we should give our land back to the Indians.

People don't like to hear the truth.

Where should the Palestinians live? Well, maybe they could try going back where they came from before they moved into Israel 60 years ago. Palestinians are ethnically, culturally, and historically, indistinguishable from their countries of origin, Jordan, Egypt and Syria.

I think if you look at historical evidence rather than holy books filled with shi t, i think you would see, that although there were jewish principalities in the israelite area they were very small indeed and there were many arabs there.

For centurys between the principalities and rise of islam, the area of israel was ruled by persians babylonians and other non jewish factions.

Palestine, was called the mandate of palestine after being liberated from ottoman rule after ww1, therefore the arabs(palestinians) were there.

It is their land not the jews. the same as america is for the natives not the colonials who now lay claim to it. really all land was at some point in history taken from another people, i mean the christian crusaders held jerusalem for a while, is it theirs yes and no, they won it rightfully similar to the jews however they were not given it they took it. but they also displaced the prior inhabitants the arabs.

The problem with the israelis, is that palestine was divided up between the jews and arabs, but systimatically israel keeps taking more and more, that is not on. they can moan all about the holocaust but it was the germans(nazis) not the arabs that are to blame.

Sorry to the germans technically hitler was austrian, and a lot of the genocide was carried out by the eastern european supporters of hitler after he annexed their countries.

so, what your saying is the situation over there really sucks. your right.

It's all based on the 1920 Ottoman Empire Census. They counted 69 people that were neither Jew or Arab that were labeled Palestinian.

Those 69 people have multiplied without food or shelter into 2.4 million residents. Not even rabbits can breed that fast

You could uproot half of the worlds population with claims like this.Britons, Germans, Americans. What needs to happen is that the state of isreal must allow the lands to cede because they have a right to self determination and they live in a relatively homogenous area. There is no point in Isreal maintaining and economic embargo on this area it will make more terrorists or eventually be goaded into mass genocide. Also both states need to offer citizenship to the citizens from both side and inalienable rights to live, work and worship the way they choose.

Beacuse they lived there. Until land was taken away from them for living space. Why else?

It is only by understanding the needs of both peoples that the world can work towards a just peace for both sides in Israel and Palestine.
